The mechanical properties of graphite copper bushings include the following:
Hardness:
The hardness of graphite copper bushings of different base materials varies. For example, with high force brass as the substrate of graphite copper bushing, its hardness is generally higher, Brinell hardness can reach HB200 or more, and some can even reach HB230 – 290; to tin bronze as the substrate of graphite copper sleeve, the hardness is relatively low, usually Brinell hardness in HB90 or so. Higher hardness enables graphite copper bushings to withstand a certain amount of pressure and wear, to ensure stability and service life in the working process.
Strength:
Tensile strength: graphite copper bushings have high tensile strength, such as models with tensile strength greater than 750MPa36 This means that when subjected to tensile load, graphite copper bushings are able to maintain good integrity, and not easy to fracture or deformation, which can be adapted to some of the higher tensile properties of the material requirements of the work scene.
Yield strength: Generally speaking, the yield strength is above 400MPa, and the yield strength of some models can reach 450MPa and above. When the material is subjected to external force to reach the yield strength, it will start to produce plastic deformation, the higher yield strength ensures that the graphite copper bushing will not be easily plastic deformation under normal working load, to maintain the stability of its structure and size.
Carrying capacity: graphite copper bushings have good carrying capacity, the ultimate dynamic load can be up to 60 – 100N/mm² or even higher 348, which makes it able to work under heavy load conditions, suitable for construction machinery, metallurgical equipment, mining machinery and other occasions that require high load carrying capacity. The strong load carrying capacity comes from the high strength of the copper alloy matrix and the graphite solid lubricant support and friction reduction role of the synergistic cooperation.
Elongation: Elongation reflects the plastic deformation ability of the material. The elongation of graphite copper bushings is usually around 5% – 13%.68 A certain elongation ensures that the material can deform to a certain extent without breaking when subjected to external forces, which is important for absorbing vibrations and shocks during the operation of the equipment, and helps to improve the stability and reliability of the operation of the equipment.
Friction coefficient: the friction coefficient of graphite copper bushing is low, generally less than 0.1637, which is mainly due to the graphite as a solid lubricant, can form a lubricant film on the friction surface in the process of friction, reduce the friction resistance between the sleeve and the shaft, reduce the energy loss and wear, and improve the working efficiency and service life of the equipment.
In summary, graphite copper bushing has high hardness, strength, bearing capacity and low coefficient of friction, these excellent mechanical properties make it in a variety of complex working environment can play a good self-lubricating and wear-resistant performance, widely used in a number of industrial fields.
