The main reasons for crusher thrust bearing burns are as follows:

First. Poor lubrication

Insufficient lubricant: The lubricant cannot be supplied to the thrust bearing normally, probably due to the failure of the lubrication system, such as damage of the oil pump or blockage of the oil pipe. Not in accordance with the specified time and amount of refueling, so that the bearing in the lack of sufficient lubricant operation.

Lubricant deterioration: after a long time of use, the lubricant is affected by high temperature, oxidization, pollution and other factors, performance decline, lose good lubrication effect. Mixed impurities, water, etc., destroying the structure of the lubricant, so that it can not effectively in the formation of oil film on the bearing surface.

Improper lubrication: The lubrication method chosen is not suitable for the working conditions of the crusher, for example, in the case of high speed and heavy load, an improper lubrication method is used, which can not meet the lubrication requirements of the bearings.

Second, overload operation

Overfeeding the crusher: In order to improve production efficiency, the operator adds too much material to the crusher at one time, resulting in excessive load on the crusher and the axial force on the thrust bearing exceeds the design range.

Material hardness exceeds the standard: the hardness of the material entering the crusher exceeds the handling capacity of the equipment, which makes the crusher need more force in the crushing process, thus increasing the burden of the thrust bearing.

Overload caused by equipment failure: such as transmission system failure, unstable motor power, etc., which may cause the crusher to suddenly bear excessive load, so that the thrust bearing is damaged.

Third, improper installation

Low bearing installation precision: When installing thrust bearings, sufficient installation precision is not ensured, such as the fit between the bearing and the shaft is too loose or too tight, and the installation of the bearing housing is not level, etc. This will cause the bearing to be damaged during operation. This will lead to uneven force on the bearings in the process of operation, and generate excessive pressure and friction locally, which will easily cause burns.

Poor alignment: Inaccurate alignment of the crusher’s shaft with the motor shaft or other related parts will make the thrust bearing bear extra axial and radial forces, accelerating bearing wear and burns.

Fourth, poor heat dissipation

High ambient temperature: If the working ambient temperature of the crusher is too high, it will affect the heat dissipation effect of the bearings and increase the bearing temperature, which will easily lead to burns.

Poor ventilation: The ventilation around the crusher is not good, or the heat dissipation device of the lubrication system is faulty, which can’t emit the heat generated by the bearings in time, resulting in a continuous rise in the bearing temperature.
