Ensure sufficient lubricant volume
Regularly check and maintain the oil pump: the oil pump is the key equipment to ensure the normal supply of lubricating oil. It is necessary to check the working condition of the oil pump regularly according to the instruction manual of the equipment, including the pressure and flow rate of the oil pump and other parameters. For example, for the copper bushing lubrication system in the industrial gear box, check once a month whether the oil pump pressure is within the specified range, if the pressure is found to be insufficient, the oil pump should be cleaned up in a timely manner to clean the oil pump screen or replace the worn oil pump parts.
Check the oil pipe and oil nozzle smoothness: oil pipe blockage or oil nozzle damage will lead to the lubricant can not reach the copper bushing smoothly. Regularly clean the oil and impurities inside the oil pipe to make sure the oil nozzle is not blocked. In some large mechanical equipment, such as mining equipment rotary copper bushing, every quarter can be flushed to the oil pipe, the use of specialized oil pipe cleaning equipment, the oil pipe inside the dirt clean, and at the same time check the nozzle of the oil injection, if any blockage in time to dredge.
Ensure the quality of lubricant
Choose the right type of lubricant: Choose the right lubricant according to the working conditions of the copper bushing, such as load, speed, working temperature and other factors. For example, for high-load, low-speed operation of the copper bushing, should choose a higher viscosity and good extreme pressure performance of the lubricant, like containing sulfur, phosphorus and other additives of industrial gear oil; for high-speed light-loaded copper bushing, you can use a lower viscosity but good antioxidant performance of the lubricant, such as synthetic type of spindle oil.
Regular replacement of lubricating oil: lubricating oil in the process of use, its performance will gradually decline. According to the operating time and working environment of the equipment to develop a reasonable oil change cycle. Generally speaking, in the more severe industrial environment, such as mining, metallurgy and other industries, the equipment in the copper bushing lubricant needs to be replaced every 3 – 6 months; and in the relatively good environment of the equipment, such as indoor small precision machinery, the lubricant can be replaced every 1 – 2 years.
Optimize oil viscosity
Adjust to ambient temperature: In low temperature environments, a low viscosity lubricant should be used to ensure good fluidity. For example, in the cold northern winter, for the copper bushing of construction machinery working outdoors, the original lubricant can be replaced with a multigrade lubricant with better low-temperature performance, such as 10W-30 lubricant, which can quickly reach the friction surface at low temperatures and reduce friction during start-up. In high temperature environments, a high viscosity lubricant is used to ensure film strength.
Adopt viscosity index improver: For copper bushings with a wide range of operating temperatures, viscosity index improvers can be added to the lubricant. These additives can make the lubricant at different temperatures to maintain a relatively stable viscosity. For example, in some automobile engine copper sleeve lubrication, the use of polymethacrylate viscosity index improver containing lubricants, can effectively deal with the engine in the cold start and high load operation temperature changes on the viscosity of the lubricant.
